1. How We Make Our PFM Bridges Super Strong
Our PFM bridges are not like some others. We use two things to make them.
- First, we use metal. It is very, very strong. It is like the bones of the tooth. This metal is called cobalt chrome alloy. It can handle a lot of pressure, at least 850 MPa (that’s a big number!). This is important for back teeth because they do most of the chewing. This strength helps with molar (back teeth) occlusion (biting).
- Next, we use porcelain. It is white and looks like a real tooth. We put it on top of the metal. We use a special kind, called VITA VM13. It is made just for the biting part of the tooth. It is tough and does not wear down easily, at least 1500N of force is needed! We call this making of the tooth, porcelain fused to high noble metal.
We check the fit of the bridge. It needs to be just right. We make sure the edges are very close to the other teeth. The space should be less than 50μm (that’s super tiny!). We use a special machine (industrial CT scanner) to see this, another way that ASD Dental Lab is better at making your restorations. This helps make a good crown margin (edge of the tooth). This makes the bridge fit well and last long. It helps with deep bite problems, too.
We also check the bite. When you bite down, the teeth should touch in the right spots. We make sure there are 12-14 of these spots on each square centimeter (that’s like the size of your small fingernail). This helps you chew well.

2. How We Make Our PFM Bridges Look Like Real Teeth
Our PFM bridges don’t just work well, they look good, too! We want them to look like real teeth. Here’s how we do it:
- We use many layers of porcelain. We don’t just use one. We use four! This makes the tooth look real. It lets light go through it a little bit, like a real tooth.
- We copy the shape of real teeth. We look at how real teeth are made. Real teeth have little bumps and lines. We make our bridges have these, too. This helps with chewing. This is called making a good functional cusp (the pointy part of the tooth). We use a digital way to check the biting, digital occlusal analysis.
- We can make the bridge to match the color of your other teeth. We use a special guide, VITA 3D-Master. This helps us pick the right color. This is called making aesthetic (pretty) layers.
- We make it so that the bridge will stay in place, we use a special, cross arch stabilization.
We use computers to help us. We have special programs (3Shape and Exocad). These programs help us design the bridge. We can use files from your office (STL, PLY, and DCM files). This makes it easy to work with us. We can even make bridges for implants (fake tooth roots). We have special parts for NobelParallel and Straumann implants. This is how we customize our implant-supported bridges.
For those interested in more aesthetic options, consider our Zirconia lab, where we craft lifelike zirconia restorations.
3. How ASD Dental Lab Makes Sure Our PFM Bridges are the Best
We check our PFM bridges many, many times. We want to be sure they are perfect for you.
- We use a very strong machine to look inside the metal. It is like an X-ray, but much better. It is called an industrial CT scanner. It can see very, very small things (2.9μm – that’s smaller than a hair!). We use it to make sure there are no holes or cracks inside. The metal should have very few holes (less than 0.2%).
- We do a lot of different testing, like thermal cycle testing to see how well the materials will perform.
- We test the bridges to make sure they are strong. We push on them very hard (1200-1500 MPa). We also check how they change with heat and cold. They should not change too much (13.5 ± 0.5 x 10⁻⁶/K). This is important because your mouth gets hot and cold when you eat and drink.
- We follow rules from big groups (ISO and FDA). These rules make sure our bridges are safe and work well. We have papers that show we follow the rules (ISO 22674, FDA 510(k), and CE 0473).
- We keep track of the bite space, or interocclusal space between teeth to make sure the fit is right.
We give you help after you get the bridge, too.
- We have videos that show you how to put the bridge in the mouth.
- If there is a problem, we will fix it fast (72 hours).
- We give you papers that tell you about the bridge and how we made it.
- We help you with putting in the dental cement (glue for teeth).
We, ASD Dental Lab are here to help you make great smiles! We work hard to make the best PFM bridges for back teeth. Order from us.
