ASD Dental Lab manufactures crowns, bridges, implant restorations, full-arch hybrids, dentures, night guards and orthodontic appliances for dental clinics, dentists and dental laboratories. To do that work we receive patient information — sometimes a great deal of it, including intraoral scans, prescriptions, clinical photographs and physical models. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Two rules shape everything below. First, you own your patient data — the scans, designs and case files you send us belong to your practice. Second, we do not need more than the job requires, so we ask you to use your internal case number instead of a patient’s full name wherever the case will still come back to you correctly.
Who we are
ASD Dental Lab is a full-service dental laboratory founded in 2012, with manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen and Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China. Our website address is https://asd-dentallab.com/.

Patient privacy and dental case data
This is the part of the policy that matters most to a dental practice, so it is worth reading closely.
What we receive
Depending on the case, we may receive:
- Intraoral scan files — STL or PLY from systems including iTero, 3Shape Trios and Medit
- Prescriptions (Rx) with clinical parameters such as margin, contact, occlusion, shade, material, abutment type and cement or retainer choice
- Patient names or other identifying details, if your practice chooses to include them
- Clinical photographs, including preoperative, intraoperative and finished-restoration images
- CBCT data or surgical guide references for implant cases
- Physical impressions, trays and printed or milled models
- Your business contact details and account, billing and shipping information
Physical impressions and models arriving by post also carry your return address on the outer packaging.
You do not have to send a patient name
A patient name is not a required field on our Rx form. We recommend using your own internal case number instead of a patient’s full name — it is enough for us to match a scan, a design and a shipped restoration back to the right case, and it keeps identifying information out of our systems. If your practice does submit a name, we treat it as confidential case data under the terms below.
Who on our side can open a case
Access is limited to the case coordination and follow-up team working your account. These employees sign confidentiality agreements as a condition of employment. Technicians work from the case reference and the prescription; they do not need, and are not given, a patient’s identity in order to fabricate the restoration. Your account is also assigned one dedicated technician who stays with it, so the number of people touching your case data stays small and predictable.
How files move and how they are stored
Case data is uploaded and transferred over encrypted connections, and stored in encrypted form. Access is controlled by role and logged. Where we operate as a processor on your behalf, we are willing to put the arrangement in writing — a data processing agreement or a mutual NDA can be signed alongside your account setup, and most laboratory partners work this way.
How long we keep it, and how to get it deleted
Electronic case records are retained for the period required under the regulations that apply to us and as set out in our agreement with your practice. Physical models are held for the term agreed in that agreement and then disposed of in a unified disposal run.
You can ask us to delete your case data at any time by writing to [email protected]. We delete within the timeframe agreed with you and retain only the minimal audit record needed to show the deletion happened. If a statutory obligation requires us to hold something for longer, we will tell you which part and for how long.
Using your cases for marketing or training
We do not use case photographs, models or any patient-related material for marketing, portfolio, case-library or training purposes without prior written authorisation from your practice and, where required, from the patient. When authorisation is given, patient-identifying details are removed before the material is published. Absent that written authorisation, your cases stay in production and stay private.
We do not reuse your files
Original patient cases, scan data, designs and any material you supply remain your property. We hold a right to use them only for the duration of manufacturing, only to produce the restorations you ordered. We do not use client files to train software, build reference libraries, or repurpose the design for a different case. We also do not approach your own dentist clients directly — that relationship is yours.
White-label and your brand
Laboratory partners can order white-label service: packaging, Rx forms and labels carry your brand rather than ours. The same privacy terms apply either way, and you can arrange an NDA if your own contracts require one.
Cross-border processing
Our manufacturing facilities are in China and our office is in California. Submitting a case means your case data is processed in the country where the work is done. We keep that transfer limited to what the case requires, and we do not transfer case data to third-party laboratories for further outsourcing — your case is manufactured in-house.
Website accounts, comments and forms
If you open an account, we store the information you provide in your user profile. You can see, edit or delete it at any time; the one thing you cannot change is your username.
When you leave a comment we collect what you type in the form plus your IP address and browser user agent string, to help us detect spam. An anonymised hash of your email address may be passed to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it; the service’s own policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly alongside it.
When you submit an inquiry or order form, we use what you enter to reply and to process the case. Inquiry forms are not used for marketing lists.
Cookies
If you comment, you can opt in to having your name, email address and website stored in cookies so you do not have to retype them. These last one year. Visiting a login page sets a temporary cookie that records whether your browser accepts cookies; it holds no personal data and disappears when you close the browser.
On login we set cookies for your session and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last a year, and selecting “Remember Me” extends the login to two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies. If you edit or publish an article, one additional cookie stores the post ID so the editor knows what you are working on; it holds no personal data and expires after a day.
Embedded content and images
Articles may include embedded media from other websites — video, images, posts. Embedded content behaves as it would if you visited that site directly, and those sites may set their own cookies and tracking.
If you upload images to the site, strip location data (EXIF GPS) before uploading. Visitors can download images and read any location metadata left in them.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell your data. We share it only where a case cannot be made or delivered without it: the carriers delivering your physical impressions and finished restorations, and the service providers who host our systems and email. Comment submissions may pass through an automated spam-detection service. If you request a password reset, your IP address appears in the reset email.
We will disclose data if we are legally required to, and we will tell you unless the law forbids the disclosure.
How long we retain everything else
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically instead of sitting in a moderation queue. Account records are kept for as long as the account is open. Inbound inquiry emails are kept as business correspondence.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may hold some or all of the following rights over data linked to you:
- Ask for an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to erase data we hold about you
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
- Receive it in a portable, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent where our use relies on consent
- Complain to your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. Please note that most of our case data is processed on behalf of your practice rather than about you personally — if you are a patient, the fastest route is to ask your dental practice to make the request, since they are your provider and hold the relationship. Some exceptions apply where we must keep records for regulatory or legal reasons.
Children’s information
Our website is intended for dental professionals, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site. Patients of any age are treated under the same case-data protections described above, because a dental case record is handled the same way regardless of the patient’s age.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change. The revision date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes affecting existing accounts are communicated to account managers directly.
