Digital Dental Labs Built on Our Own Production Floor

ASD isn’t a broker passing your case down a chain. We’re a digital dental lab with our own CAD department, our own milling floor, our own printers and our own QC team — all under one roof since 2012. You send a scan or an impression. We design it, manufacture it, inspect it, pack it and ship it.

Why Dentists, Clinics and Labs Send Us Their Cases

We manufacture in-house. Every major step of a case, from intake to final inspection, runs inside our own facilities — CAD design, CAM milling, 3D printing, zirconia processing, porcelain layering, polishing, quality inspection and packaging are all done under one roof by our own staff. Nothing sits in a queue at a third-party shop we don’t manage, and no one else’s backlog becomes your delayed case.

We tell you what “good” means, and you can hold us to it. “High precision” is an adjective. Every case is inspected against written acceptance categories — marginal fit and seating, occlusion, contacts, surface and internal quality, esthetics — not implied standards. If you want a different standard, send it in writing; we lock it at the design approval stage and inspect against your version instead of ours.

The people and the equipment are on our payroll. Around 460 employees across design, milling, Implantat, ceramics, removable dentures and QC, plus roughly 50 trained backup technicians for peak season. Milling tools, sintering programs and printing materials are tracked on logged schedules — usage counts, fixed temperature curves, batch and expiry dates — not run until something breaks.

Your case has a paper trail. Every case gets a unique number that binds together the technician who made it, the machine it ran on, the material batch it came from and the inspection results at each gate. That record is archived, and material documentation — brand, origin, batch number, conformity certificate — is issued per case on request.

How We Build Every Case

Different products go through different stations on our floor. What’s constant is how we control the outcome, whatever the product:

  • One workflow, start to finish, under one roof. Scanning or model work, CAD design, manufacturing (milling or printing, depending on the case), hand finishing and inspection all happen in our own facilities — nothing is hand-carried between separate vendors.
  • Every design is reviewed before it’s built. A senior designer checks the file against the prescription before it goes to production; implant and full-arch cases get an additional review.
  • Every case is inspected against a written standard, not a visual guess. Inspectors use magnification, scan comparison and digital measurement against the specific checks each product type requires — margins and occlusion for a crown, passive fit for a bar, base adaptation for a denture.
  • Three QC gates, one independent sign-off. Incoming data and materials are checked before production starts, work is spot-checked between stages, and a dedicated inspector who doesn’t produce releases the case at the end.
  • Materials are tracked, not assumed. Batch numbers, expiry dates and material certificates are logged per case and available on request.
  • A failed case is remade, not shipped and hoped. If a case doesn’t clear inspection, it goes back into production automatically.

Compliance and registration

Certifications and registrations we hold for the restorations we export:

We’ll send electronic copies of certificates and registration documents within the scope of what we’re permitted to release, always showing the full registration numbers.

Compliance and registration

How We Handle Your Case Data

We don’t need patient names. Use your own internal case number and it works fine — we only collect the fields production needs, and on the shop floor a case is discussed by number only.

Access is narrow and contractual. Only our case coordination team can access case records, all under confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality agreements and data processing agreements are available on request, including terms that protect your pricing and client relationships.

Your data stays yours. Original patient records, scans and anything else you send remain the property of the clinic or customer. We hold a right to use them during production, for that case only — we don’t use your files to train software or for anything else. Send a written deletion request and we’ll delete your case data within the agreed window, keeping only what a compliance audit requires. Case photos, models and patient material are never used for marketing or training without written authorization from both clinic and patient.

Your practice’s obligations under HIPAA, the U.S. federal health information privacy law, remain yours regardless of how we handle data on our side — what changes is that sending us a case doesn’t add new exposure, for the reasons above.

Turnaround and shipping

We ship on our factory account (DHL, FedEx, UPS, SPIDER) at volume-agreement rates; outbound freight, duties and remote-area surcharges are on you, and declared-value insurance is available on request.

Sending physical impressions instead of a scan works too, but several destination countries — including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most of the EU — require undisinfected impressions to be disinfected and declared before customs will clear them, a requirement the U.S. CDC’s dental infection-control guidance also flags; scanning the case avoids that step and shortens the cycle.

Digital Input

We accept scans from 3Shape TRIOS, Medit, iTero, CEREC and other major intraoral scanners, in STL, PLY (with color) or OBJ, plus native exocad and 3Shape design files. For anterior esthetic cases, send PLY with color rather than STL — you need the shade and texture reference.

A case needs a working scan or cast, an opposing scan or cast, and a bite record; we confirm within one business day whether a scan is usable, and if something’s missing we pause and come back to you rather than guessing.

Factory and capacity

  • Founded in 2012, with our own facilities in Shenzhen and Huizhou, China — not a trading company, not an intermediary
  • ~460 employees on staff, plus ~50 trained backup technicians for peak season

Hvad vores læger siger

The happiest moment for us isn’t when we receive payment from a dentist, but when we hear that they truly value and appreciate our work. That’s when we feel we’ve genuinely helped them.

Send us a case and judge the result

You don’t need to take any of this on faith. Send one case — a crown, a denture, a design file, a batch, whatever matches your real work. Check the fit, check the finish, check the paperwork that comes with it. Then decide.

Ofte stillede spørgsmål

A traditional lab does a lot of its work in the physical world — poured models, hand waxing, hand layering. A digital dental lab runs the same case through scanning, CAD design and either milling or printing, then finishes it by hand. The difference that matters to you isn’t the software: design changes to a digital case are cheap and fast, the design file is a durable record of what was agreed, and the case can move between production routes without starting over.

It depends on where your bottleneck is. If you have production capacity but not enough design hours, design-only gets you out of the hole fastest. If your bottleneck is production or staffing, full service costs more per unit but removes the whole workflow from your plate. Plenty of labs start design-only and add manufacturing later for overflow cases.

A person. CAD software is a tool, not a substitute for a designer’s judgement. Every design goes through internal review before it reaches you, implant and full-arch designs get an additional senior review, and you can nominate the designer you want on your cases.

No, and we won’t pretend otherwise — they’re a different product for a different use case, not a cheaper version of the same one. A milled base holds up to long-term use and can be relined or adhesively repaired; a printed base can’t, so it’s better suited to shorter-cycle or interim work. We’ll tell you which route fits your case.

Whether design and manufacturing happen under the same roof or across a chain of subcontractors; whether a named, independent inspector releases the case; whether turnaround is stated with its clock and its exclusions; who owns your scan data; and whether you can get on a plane and look at the floor. Every one of those is a question we’d rather answer before you send a case than after.

Both — PVS impressions and physical models are fine, and we digitize them here. Scanning the case instead avoids cross-border shipping restrictions on undisinfected impressions and shortens the total cycle.

Your practice’s HIPAA obligations remain yours. On our side: don’t send patient names, access to case records is limited to a small team under confidentiality agreement, and you own the scan data we work with — we don’t use it for anything beyond producing your case.

If the problem traces back to our manufacturing — open margins, high occlusion, a crown that doesn’t seat, wrong shade, a denture base that doesn’t seat or a clasp that doesn’t fit — we remake it free. Report within 24 hours with the case number and photos; remakes get priority and typically run 3–5 days. Not covered: shade or material changes requested after you’ve approved the case, or continuing with an impression we’ve already flagged as unusable. If we can’t get a case right, we refund it.

We run your file as sent, so verify thickness, margins and connectors before sending. We’ll flag anything that looks like an obvious risk and confirm with you before cutting — if you tell us to proceed anyway, a resulting redo is on you. If the finished piece fractures or chips instead, that’s on us, and we cover it.
